Tickets: $550 | SOLD OUT Class size limited to 25 WAITLIST PLEASE NOTE: This is a 3-day workshop, meeting on September 1st, 2nd, & 3rd from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Participation includes access to a film screening of Roman Studio, a short documentary by Wendy Artin. The screening will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, following the workshop session. Immerse yourself in the practice of watercolor painting! Join renowned artist Wendy Artin for a three-day intensive workshop that explores figures and form through this delicate medium. Artin has become world-renowned for her painting and watercolor workshops, previously held to great acclaim in France and Italy, that make great use of her insightful teaching abilities as well as her beautiful approach to the medium. We are thrilled to bring this extraordinary opportunity to our community! All skill levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome. Individual instruction will be given to each participant, offering insight and mastery over brush control, wetness, and use of the paper. Working daily from 10 am – 4 pm, each day will be broken into two areas of study: gestural figures and still-life forms. In the morning (10:00 am – 12:30 pm), participants will examine the human figure, working from a live model to generate fast & fluid monochromatic watercolors of poses that range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. In the afternoon (1:30 pm– 4:00 pm), the study will shift to still-life, examining the details of light, form, and color in fresh local produce, to create simple, yet essential, colorful paintings. Guided by Artin, participants will learn and expand upon the necessary techniques to capture and translate these subjects through watercolor. Participants are also invited to attend an exclusive screening of ‘Roman Studio’, a short documentary film about life models, watercolor, and creation in Artin’s studio. The screening will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, immediately following the workshop…
