In Module 1, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Generative AI, focusing on what it is, how it works, and how people interact with it through chat-based tools. Learn where Generative AI fits in the broader AI landscape, how it generates language by predicting patterns, and how it differs from traditional search. Explore how to use Generative AI practically and effectively through clear prompting, iteration, and refinement. Public libraries and Microsoft Elevate are working together to help libraries become trusted AI learning hubs where communities build skills through no cost AI literacy trainings and credentials. You will be emailed a Certificate of Participation after completing this module. Please bring your own device. Some laptops will be available for those who don't have one.
