Join Anna Gardner of New York Genealogical and Biographical Society and John Hart Jr. of American Pomeroys for a presentation about researching vital and immigration records, and how you can use digital techniques to organize your findings! Please register for this event. Anna Gardner serves as Manager for Digitize New York at the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&B). Digitize New York is a statewide records preservation initiative led by the NYG&B that Anna supports through project development and community outreach from her base at the Central New York Digitization Center in Syracuse. In her role, she works closely with recordholders across the state––such as genealogical or historical societies, religious institutions, cemeteries, local municipalities, and more––to identify at-risk historical records for digitization and public online access to support family research in New York. John Hart Jr. joined the American Pomeroys in 2024, bringing a broad background in American history and expertise in the museum field with a specialty in collections care and management. He regularly provides input and knowledge on a range of projects for the Pomeroy Foundation’s historical marker grant programs. As archivist/collections manager for the American Pomeroys, he applies best practice to the unique and growing collection, interweaving the Pomeroy family story into American history, while making the collection as accessible as possible.
