Gazee: Natalie Newbold took a beat to refocus, lean in, and trust her instincts for latest project, Gazee (pronounced gāz-ē). A seasoned pillar of the East Coast music scene, Newbold has occupied various roles spanning guitarist to drummer in bands Well Wisher and dollys (respectively), as well as the present touring bassist for The Front Bottoms– contributing lead or support vocals across the board. And so, the multi-hyphenate artist is undeniably equipped to write and perform every component of her upcoming LP; a challenge she proposed to herself as an exercise in artistry and autonomy. At the heart of the project is introspective and heartfelt songwriting. Each track sports a signature 90’s flair, decorated with heavy, shoegazey guitars, roomy drums, and catchy vocal melodies– dreamy and nostalgic, while simultaneously maintaining a fresh and compelling composition. The distinguished vocal prowess and poetic lyricism that drew fans in from the start is ever-present but has developed with a more sophisticated tone. Hunlo: HUNLO is a singer/songwriter and musician based in Athens, GA. This project is sonically inspired by rock, r&b, folk-soul and western twang. The writing is parallel yet perpendicular to the feelings and questions about love and the vague reason humans are on earth. All standing on simplicity and honesty to share this revelation with you. Hunlo is also a member of the Athens-based group lighthearted. Johnny Falloon: There’s a stigma about Athens music: The B-52s and R.E.M. paved the way, and the acts that follow are destined to live in their shadow. Johnny Falloon begs to differ.
