The Community Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to present Garcia Birthday Band Live and Summer Tour Documentary Screening at the WOW Hall on Saturday, September 12th. A special screening of Micha Richter’s Summer Tour, a poetic documentary exploring the music, culture, and enduring Grateful Dead community, paired with a live concert by Garcia Birthday Band. THE EXPERIENCE Join us for a screening of a Summer Tour, a poetic documentary about the Deadhead experience: an unconventional family bound together by music, freedom, and the open road. After the screening, we’re thrilled to have the Garcia Birthday Band join us for a full set with a liquid light show and handmade posters for sale too! ON SCREEN: Summer Tour 2025. Directed by Mischa Richter. Runtime: 82 minutes. Summer Tour is a poetic documentary that follows Jerry and Annie, a magnetic young couple devoted to the music and community of Dead & Company, as they journey across America for the band’s final tour. Blending intimate portraiture with lyrical road imagery, the film captures the essence of the Deadhead experience: an unconventional family bound together by music, freedom, and the open road. At once a love story and a celebration of a uniquely American tradition of wandering, Summer Tour reflects on what it means to seek belonging, adventure, and transcendence in a fleeting moment of cultural history.
