Gallery Talk: Skye Jackson Poetry Reading and Book Signing

Join us for weekly gallery talks every Wednesday at NOMA, featuring curators, artists, and other special guests. This week, join NOMA in welcoming poet Skye Jackson for a poetry reading from her newest collection Libre, followed by a book signing. Jackson’s collection is this year’s One Book One New Orleans selection, as well as NOMA’s Book Club pick for September 2026. You can register for this month’s Book Club discussion of Libre here. Copies of Libre are also available for purchase through the NOMA Museum Shop. This program will begin at 12:30 PM, with a second program offered at 6:00 PM the same day. Both programs are free with museum admission. Louisiana residents receive free admission to NOMA every Wednesday, courtesy of The Helis Foundation. About the Program Skye Jackson Skye Jackson’s work has appeared in RHINO, Palette Poetry, The Southern Review, and elsewhere. She has been a finalist for the Iowa Review Poetry Award, the RATTLE Poetry Prize and was the recipient of the AWP Intro Journals Award. Her work was also chosen by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins for inclusion in the Library of Congress Poetry 180 Project. Jackson’s debut poetry collection, Libre, was published by Regalo Press and nationally distributed by Simon & Schuster. Libre was also selected as the One Book One New Orleans’ chosen book for 2026. She was also recently highlighted as one of Gambit Magazine’s “40 Under 40” honorees. She currently serves as a Visiting Writer at Xavier University of Louisiana. One Book One New Orleans (OBONO) One Book One New Orleans is a nonprofit organization that supports literacy, builds community, and promotes meaningful dialogue between people of diverse backgrounds by calling on all New Orleanians to share the experience of reading and discussing a selected book each year, and providing literacy resources to organizations and individuals throughout our community.
