*"Alice said we're in over our heads* *But we're barely on our feet"* As the conductor of the Friko hype train, I'm super excited that they're coming back to the Lou on this latest tour! I thought that their 2024 album, *Where We've Been, Where We Go from Here*, was one of the most promising debuts that I've heard in a while, and their new album from this year is definitely a worthy follow-up. Alongside bands like Lifeguard and Horsegirl, they're definitely putting the [Chicago indie scene](https://chicagoreader.com/music/music-feature/hallogallo-horsegirl-lifeguard-friko-sharp-pins-uniflora-marigold-memory-card/) on the map. I love how they can seamlessly shift from bedroom pop to shoegaze to some good old-fashioned guitar shredding. I saw them at the Atomic a couple years ago, and I thought they were great!
