About this event
Teaneck - Auditorium. When the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum opened in 1959, critics panned the design, likening it to a beehive, a washing machine, and an inverted oatmeal bowl, among other things. Today, however, it has become one of New York City’s most beloved buildings. This interactive slide talk and conversation considers more than six decades of changing attitudes toward this architectural icon by examining how it has been depicted in cartoons, illustrations, and artworks. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Teaneck Public Library. Information on joining the Friends is available at https://teanecklibrary.org/friends/. The elevator in the Library is currently out of service until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
