Freedomland U.S.A. (1960-1964) was an American history theme park in the Bronx on the site now occupied by Co-op City. Freedomland enjoyed connections to Disneyland, Hollywood, NYC radio/TV, Broadway and the music of the day. “Freedomland U.S.A.: The Definitive History” is based on the book of the same name by historian Mike Virgintino. His presentation will explore the history of the park from conception to bankruptcy, focusing on the creators, attractions, employees and entertainers. A memorabilia display will accompany the presentation.
