Freedom Lab with Jade Rodgers

Freedom Lab is coming to OPL! Join Jade Rogers from the House of Afros, Capes, and Curls for a thoughtful and creative exploration of what freedom means to you. Decorate and write letters to yourself using art supplies and creative expression while learning about the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Through conversation, reflection, and creativity, this workshop invites kids to share ideas, express feelings, and connect with one another in a welcoming space. No previous Freedom Lab experience is needed to participate. This is a free event for kids ages 8-12. Registration is required and opens Jan. 2. Please call 402.444.4849 or email wb-managers@omahalibrary.org to register. All Omaha Public Library locations are wheelchair accessible. Need sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event? Please email Nancy Novotny at NNovotny@omahalibrary.org to request accommodation. Requests must be made at least five business days before the activity or event.
