Free Virtual Resource - Computer Generated Readings from Reliable Sources

Many sites offer free readings using software that generates the cards and spreads. I'm not particularly a fan of computer-generated readings as a source of tarot counseling because there is nobody there to ask for clarification. However, as a source of tarot education, a good software app with good graphics and accurate rendition of the author's companion notes is an effective tarot teaching tool. So the plan currently is to make this a "living list" (meaning it will change as apps come and go) of high quality computer tarot apps. It can serve a number of purposes: 1) you can see decks and verbiage before you buy a deck. 2) you can try out different spreads and cards to see what really speaks to you as a reader. 3) It can be a source of tarot study when your "hard" deck isn't handy. 1. Gaian Tarot by Joanna Powell Colbert...healing the earth, healing ourselves... http://www.gaiantarot.com/online-tarot-reading/ Joanna's clear and colorful illustrations come through in this computer tarot app. The card meanings are easily understood and provoke thought on multiple levels. 2. Facade.com...multiple decks, multiple spreads. While the interpretations of the individual spreads are somewhat abbreviated they are nonetheless thought provoking. The benefit of this site is the number of decks that are offered as imagery: currently there are 20, ranging from traditional Marseilles to the artistic Cat People Tarot. http://www.facade.com/tarot/ 3. AskTheCards - Celtic Cross Readings using nearly a hundred decks. Choose the deck from the extensive list, and when the reading page opens, choose your subject from a drop-down menu, then type in a question (or leave the space blank). Then click the "shuffle" button. You'll be taken to a new page where you'll pick the 10 cards for your Celtic Cross Spread. Once the cards have been selected and laid out, click on each card for the interpretation. http://askthecards.info/tarot_card_decks/ 4. More to come...
