About this event
(all ages) Four Centuries in a Weekend is a Union County tradition that enables residents and visitors to travel through time and learn about the rich history of our community. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is participating on Saturday, October 17 from 10 am – 4 pm. We will be offering the following activities that will help you learn about the history of this historic estate now known as Reeves-Reed Arboretum: Visit our history exhibit to view artifacts and photographs of the Reeves, Reed, and Wisner families. Take a free Horticulture & History Tour at 10:30 am or 1:30 pm (meet at the Visitors Center). Grab a Map & Guide from our Visitors Center to aide your self-guided tour throughout the grounds, trails and gardens. Our new ADA accessible pathway (‘A Path for All’) is now open, linking all garden areas. Stop by Beacon Signal Fire #10, a replica of the original Revolutionary War beacon on “the hill”. Walk along the Wildflower Trail and stop to read our interpretive signage highlighting the property’s history. Visit the current art exhibit in historic Wisner House.
