Winning the first million dollars in revenue is the absolute hardest thing for any start-up. And if you're an introverted founder, an engineer who loves getting into the nitty gritty details of each feature, or someone new to selling, building a sales pitch and pipeline may be an even bigger challenge. The goal for early start-ups remains the same -- create momentum and generate revenue. Some of the exercises require spontaneous thinking (yes, we call on folks) but the panel provides feedback (the goal — constructive ways to improve as well as compliments) so you learn and grow. This may sound hard, but remember, we all improve with “batting practice.” Oh, btw, we’ll also jump into my favorite exercise — how to pitch a CEO cold about your company and win a meeting.
