Take a step into the past to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reconstructed Fort Fairfield Blockhouse during the nation’s Semiquincentennial year. Continuous free activities run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, featuring: A militia encampment reenactment and open museum tours Demonstrations by a blacksmith, wool spinners, and timepiece repairers (with clock/watch appraisals and wool products available for purchase) Historical presentations on the “Bloodless Aroostook War,” local lumbering artifacts, and stories and photos from the 1976 Bicentennial blockhouse reconstruction On-site food trucks – Nacho Mama’s, Cheryl’s Wiener Wagon, and The Funnel Cake Shack will be serving you their excellent fare! Special Ceremony: Events will pause at 12:00 PM for the official Rededication Ceremony, featuring remarks from American and Canadian community officials, VFW color guards, and the presentation of a Maine Legislature sentiment.
