About this event
Forest Bathing at McDonald Farm Friday, March 19th 5:00 — 6:30pm McDonald Farm 10S404 Knoch Knolls Road Naperville, IL 60565 $25 for members of The Conservation Foundation/$30 for non-members Forest bathing (also known as forest therapy or shinrin-yoku) is an immersive outdoor experience that encourages participants to slow down and relate to the more-than-human world through their senses. Participants are guided through a series of invitations that invite attention, reflection, and connection. Research suggests that forest therapy can reduce stress, support immune functioning, and foster appreciation for nature. This practice can be adapted for most ability and mobility levels. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Speaker: Kristy Belton is a rewilding guide who brings people into deeper relationship with the land they live on through forest therapy, outdoor writing workshops, and other nature-relating practices. She is also a Conservation@Home Specialist with The Conservation Foundation and an Illinois Master Naturalist.
