Help Shape Muskegon’s Future The City of Muskegon is developing a new Strategic Community Plan to help guide decisions, investments, services, and priorities over the coming years. The plan is being developed with input from City Commissioners, neighborhood leaders, city staff, community members, and a strategic planning consultant. Now, we’re inviting more people to join the conversation and help refine the draft plan before it is presented to the City Commission for consideration later this year. The draft Strategic Community Plan focuses on three key areas: Community Vision: The future we want for Muskegon. City’s Role: How the city helps achieve that vision. Priority Areas: The outcomes we’re working toward together. About the Focus Groups During the week of September 28, the contracted consultant and city team members will host three in-person focus groups (dates, times and locations listed below). These are designed to be in-depth working sessions, not open-house-style events. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the draft plan, provide feedback, and help shape the direction of the plan. Each session is designed to use the full 2.5 hours, so we encourage participants to plan to stay for the entire session. This will give everyone plenty of time to share ideas and contribute to the conversation.
