First Chapter Friday

Calling all tweens and middle grade readers age 8-12! Join us at the Visalia Library on Friday, October 2 at 4pm for the next First Chapter Friday Book Club. Follow along as we read the beginning of "Yummy: A History of Desserts" by Victoria Grace Elliott and then take a copy home to finish on your own. Please stop by the children's desk or call the library to sign up. Registration is required to guarantee a book, while supplies last. One book per household. This program is for tweens ages 8-12. Have you ever wondered who first thought to freeze cream? Or when people began making sweet pastry shells to encase fruity fillings? Learn about and taste the true stories behind everyone’s favorite treats, paired with fun and easy recipes to try at home. After all, sweets—and their stories—are always better when they’re shared!
