On September 8th, 1966 Star Trek premiered on NBC. 60 years, 13 feature length films, and 13 series (11 live action and 2 animated) later it's become one of the most globally well known and beloved science fiction titles of all time. Arguably, the most well known theatrically released Star Trek movie was also one of it's most emotional.
