Join a welcoming community for casual games and friendly competition on an indoor court. Not climate controlled courts. NO HEAT, wear layers. The American Academy of Ophthalmology highlights the risk of serious eye injuries from pickleball due to the sport’s fast-paced nature and hard plastic balls. To reduce this risk, players are advised to wear protective eyewear made of polycarbonate material, which offers both front and side protection. Wrap-around goggles are particularly effective in safeguarding against potential injuries . While not currently mandated, incorporating protective eyewear into your pickleball gear is a proactive step towards ensuring a safe and enjoyable playing experience.
