About this event

Farms & Barns Art Exhibition celebrates the beauty, history, and enduring spirit of rural life. While inspired by the agricultural landscapes that define Northwest Illinois, the exhibition welcomes artists from across the country to share their own interpretations of farming communities, country living, and the working landscapes that feed and shape our world. From weathered barns and historic farmsteads to sprawling fields, grazing livestock, winding country roads, quiet creeks, vintage tractors, harvest scenes, and the people who make rural life possible, the exhibition embraces the many stories found beyond the city limits. Whether your inspiration comes from the Midwest, the South, New England, the Mountain West, or anywhere agriculture and open spaces are part of daily life, your perspective is welcome. This annual exhibition showcases original 2D and 3D artwork in all media, encouraging artists to capture both the timeless traditions and the evolving character of rural America. Realistic or abstract, nostalgic or contemporary, Farms & Barns celebrates the landscapes, architecture, animals, equipment, and everyday moments that continue to define life on the land. All artwork must be original, created, and signed by the artist. Opening Reception for this show is Friday, September 25, from 6-8 p.m. Sponsor Our sponsor is the Lee County Farm Bureau. Judge Oregon native Chloe Metz of Painted by Chloe will serve as judge for the Farms & Barns exhibition. Metz studied Art and Business Management at Augustana College and earned a master’s degree in Museum Studies from Western Illinois University.
