Fall Tree Identification and Guided Walking Tour

About this event

Leslie is a certified Arborist who supports Openlands as a Forestry Coordinator, where she helps plan tree plantings within priority areas in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. With three years of experience in Urban Forestry and a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Indiana University Bloomington, she brings expertise in arboriculture and community engagement. Passionate about environmental stewardship, Leslie is known for encouraging others to view themselves as part of nature. Leslie will lead an introductory tree identification class starting at the library and will continue as a guided walking tour in Grant Park. We will observe the changing of the seasons and discover how trees adapt. Participants will learn to identify trees by leaves, twigs, bark and other characteristics outlined in the class. Please join us for this fun and interactive event! How to Attend Register by 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7. Chicago Public Library cannot collect personal information online from kids 0 to 13.
