Fall Leaf Art

Children's Garden. This month we will be celebrating the birthday of author and illustrator, Lois Ehlert, born on November 9, 1934. We will take inspiration from her book, Leaf Man, and make collage art and crayon rubbings using natural materials collected during the height of fall. Important Reminders The main activity for this event will be leaf collages. There will also be alternative station options (a game, a sensory table, and a simple craft) that young patrons will be encouraged to explore. The intended audience is patrons aged 5-12. Registration is required. Because this program is in the Children's Garden, it will be weather dependent. The facilitator of this program will be Youth Services department member, Elizabeth. Parking Information If the Library Square lot is full, free parking is available at the corner of South Broad Street and Calhoun Street, next to the Salem Courthouse. Please note: The lot between the Library and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is private—unauthorized vehicles may be towed at owner's expense.
