About this event

Fall into Art: A Far View November 13 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm A Far View explores a Big Horn founding family narrative. The ancestors – J.O. and Hattie Willits – of the current Garber family were not the very first to settle in the Little Goose Valley. Yet they came plenty early – 1881 – and established themselves as indispensable citizens. The Willets were progressive stockmen, farmers, horse breeders, and builders of reservoirs; they participated in local government and supported Big Horn churches. They encouraged all forms of education. One of their daughters, Vie Willits, became a recognized scholar of Sheridan County history. Vie married Roy Garber. Their three sons Orr, Victor, and Eugene, carried on the family agriculture traditions, innovating as the decades passed. A Far View also details the Garber and Willits genealogy, exploring how family members put a lasting mark on society. A ticketed dinner will follow the presentation in The Brinton Bistro. Dinner details and ticket information will be announced soon.
