Fall Hike Extravaganza!!! Fourth of July Trail

Join us for this absolutely stunning hike through the famous Fourth of July Trail in the Manzano Mountains! At this time of year we are hoping to catch all of the trees (Maples, Cottonwoods, etc.) in full vibrant bloom (pinks, oranges, and reds) before settling upon the earth. In fact, many in New Mexico consider this hike (AllTrails) to be unparalleled in its beauty for the state. This moderately difficult hike is a loop that will cover a distance of 4.6 miles, with an elevation gain of 908 feet. It will be led by the hosts you see listed, so as to account for folks moving at variable speeds. However, if you have an injury/condition that you believe will slow you significantly, please be aware that the group doesn’t intend to wait for you. We’ll meet to carpool from Walmart’s parking lot (400 Eubank Blvd NE), on the West side of the parking lot near Wendy's. This is a popular hike with limited parking this time of year, so we encourage carpooling. Please note that while 8:30 AM is the carpool meeting time, we will depart no later than 8:40 AM, so as to ensure everyone arrives by 10 AM to hike!
