Extra Credit: The Monthly Student Improv Jam & Showcase

Sharpen your improv skills, support your peers, and get a chance to jump onstage with the vets in this FREE monthly event! Class is in session and the night is all about playing off-book! Extra Credit is a free community event designed specifically for improvisers to bridge the gap between the classroom and the stage. Join us for a FREE improv jam, student indie team sets, and a student lottery where you can have the chance to jump onstage with seasoned improv veterans. Whether you’re an experienced performer or brand?new to improv, this community event is a supportive, low?pressure way to play and perform. We’ve packed the evening with three “lessons” in comedy: The Improv Jam: Kick things off by getting on stage! This is a low-pressure, high-fun opportunity for students of all levels to hop into scenes and get more reps. The Indie Showcase: We’ll feature sets from two local independent improv groups. The Student Spotlight Set: This is the headlining set! A team of seasoned improv veterans will take the stage, but they aren’t playing alone. We’re pulling names from a hat, and willing students will be chosen to join the veterans on stage to play. It’s your chance to share the spotlight with the pros! Registration is optional and just helps us plan—you’re always welcome to drop in and play! And the show portion (beginning at 8:45) is free and doesn’t require a ticket to attend. The Extra Credit Monthly Student Jam & Showcase happens every second Thursday from 7-9:45 PM and is BYOB. Must be 18 or older. All participants are expected to follow the Stomping Ground Student Handbook; find our current policies and FAQs here.
