About this event

Film screening and alumni artist panel Thursday, October 22, 2026, 5–6:30 p.m. Civic Square Building, James J. Florio Special Events Forum To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Mason Gross School of the Arts, the Rutgers Filmmaking Center created FLUXUS/RUTGERS, a short documentary (running time: approx. 13 min.) about the Fluxus artists who taught at Rutgers in the 1970s. Following a screening of the film, curator and performance-centered artist Daonne Huff will moderate a discussion featuring Department of Art & Design alumni panelists speaking about the ways in which the Fluxus spirit—embracing experimentation, interdisciplinarity, collectivity, ephemerality, and challenging art-world conventions—continues to influence their own practices and the art community today. In conjunction with this event, students in Didier William’s grad seminar “Myth, Rhythm, and Place” will show current visual work in CSB 411. Art & Design Alumni Panelists are: Peyton Chiang kyle b. co Heather Hart Layqa Nuna Yawar Free and open to the public; no RSVP is required. Image Credit: Ian Byers-Gamber
