Thank you Laurie for hosting August. (And thanks for being the first to contribute $30 to our Meetup dues fund! ) Evensong by Stewart O’Nan is an intimate, moving novel that follows The Humpty Dumpty Club, a group of women of a certain age who band together to help one another and their circle of friends in Pittsburgh as they face the challenges of their golden years. (Note: there are several novels with the Evensong name so check for the right author) If you access your books thru online libraries, be sure to check both Libby and Hoopla for availability. Some books might have a long wait time on one app but be immediately available on the other. When a new book event is published, members are encouraged to immediately check out their favorite online app for borrow status. Another option for free reading is openlibrary.org. Book discussion starts promptly at 6:30 but feel free to come as early as 6pm to eat with early attendees. Look for us at the big table to the left of the entrance.
