Hear Czech mezzo-soprano Ester Pavlů in an evening of opera accompanied by Dr. Katelyn Bouska. Concert is free and open to the public. Ester Pavlů A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, mezzosoprano Ester Pavlů was introduced as Fenena in Jose Cura’s 2017 production of Verdi’s Nabucco at the National Theatre in Prague. Pavlů portrayed the Old Woman in the world premiere of Martinů’s What Men Live By, which received the Anděl award for best classical recording of 2018. In 2019, she joined a triumphant UK tour of Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 with the FOK Prague Symphonic Orchestra, and received a standing ovation as Cinderella in Rossini’s La Cenerentola. She has excelled in Dvořák’s Rusalka, singing both the Foreign Princess and Witch. Pavlů has already worked with all major Czech orchestras such as the Czech Philharmonic, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, the Slovak Košice State Philharmonic, the FOK Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Pilsen Philharmonic and the PKF Prague Philharmonic. Dr. Katelyn Bouska Pianist Dr. Katelyn Bouska is an academic and an advocate, passionate about uncovering music lost to the passage of time. In her programming, she explores the boundaries between audience and performer, the past and the present. She brings to life these composers drawing from her deep research, cultural explorations and innovative programming. In telling their stories, Dr. Bouska, based in Prague, Czech Republic, has created a musical world where we see our own reflected. Register Here
