This lecture will trace the role of deliberate transgression across esoteric and spiritual traditions, from antinomian currents in Gnosticism and Tantra through to Thelema, chaos magick, and left-hand path movements of the modern era, exploring why rebellion against orthodoxy has so often been the engine of genuine spiritual innovation, and what that means for us today. Jake Kobrin is a multimedia artist, author, and esoteric practitioner. Kobrin has recently published “The Path Within: Ritual Magick and the Gateway to Self-Mastery” through Crossed Crow Books, which examines ceremonial magick as a framework for psychological sovereignty and self-determination. His artistic practice spans tattooing, visual art, and multimedia installation, with conceptual threads exploring autonomy, symbolic systems, and the intersection of aesthetics with consciousness.
