Emergent featuring Barry Paul Clark Sunday, November 8th @ 7:30pm At the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts - 926 East Center Street Emergent: a monthly series of improvised music featuring the Emergent Trio -- Jane Buttars, piano; Rick Ollman, wind instruments; Eli Smith, drums -- and featuring guest Barry Paul Clark, double bass and electronics. A new guest the second Sunday of each month at the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts. Emergent Trio: Formerly known as the Buttars/Ollman/Smith trio Trio, we've been together long enough to name ourselves with a word that evokes new realities born from the close listening of each member responding to the evolving music of the group as a whole. About this month's featured guest: Barry Paul Clark was born in the Sagittarius season of the year 1986. He is a slow motion performance & multi-media artist, with a particular focus on improvisation. His creative intentions lie throughout a 20+ year body of work including documented projects and collaborations across music, film, dance, and other interdisciplinary media. He is the co-owner/curator of Acute Space, a performance venue and gallery on Milwaukee’s west side.
