The Elgin Fringe Festival is a vibrant celebration of artistic experimentation that will feature an uncurated, inclusive, and affordable experience, drawing both local and national talent to Elgin’s historic downtown. Nearly 90 performances will captivate audiences, showcasing dance, theater, comedy, music, magic, and other innovative art forms. Festival-goers can easily walk between venues and enjoy local dining and entertainment. The festival also includes a Visual Art Exhibition, outdoor performances for all ages, a Preview Party, an Almost-Closing Party, and a Closing Party. Fringe Central, located at the Side Street Studio Arts (SSSA) Gallery at 15 Ziegler Ct., serves as the festival’s hub, offering ticket sales, buttons, merchandise, and information. SSSA, the festival’s producer, will host the Visual Art Exhibition and performances in its two upstairs venues. Favorite local gathering places—including the Elgin Public House, Habitat for Humanity, Martini Room, and Elgin Art Showcase—have donated additional venues. The Elgin Fringe Festival is an inclusive and dynamic experience. We are a lottery system, uncurated, uncensored, and 100% of our ticket sales go back to the artists! Programming includes our Family Fringe Day, a day filled with games, performances, and art projects that is free and open to the public, our ever-growing visual art component hosted at Side Street Studio Arts, aka Fringe Central, as well as a live music component that highlights the juggernaut of a music scene Elgin has to offer.
