Easter Day: Holy Eucharist, Rite II
The Resurrection of Our Lord Easter Day is the Feast of Feasts — the annual celebration of the resurrection that is the heartbeat of the Christian faith. On this day, the church does not hold back. The alleluias that have been silent through forty days of Lent return with full voice, and the Cathedral fills with festal music, joyful proclamation, and the gathering of a community that has walked the long road of Holy Week together. This festive contemporary language service celebrates the resurrection in the full joy of Easter morning. Families, newcomers, and longtime members are all warmly welcomed — come as you are, and come ready to celebrate. Alleluia! Christ is risen. Event FAQ: Is there a special focus for families? While the liturgy is for everyone, the 9 a.m. service is a favorite for families with children due to its energetic atmosphere and contemporary language. Is childcare available? Yes, childcare for infants and toddlers is provided in our nursery during this service. What happens afterward? Immediately following the service, we invite everyone to the Bishop’s Courtyard for our traditional parish-wide Easter photo at 10:30 a.m.
