Her career was in graphic design, with a focus on book design. She loved her work, but after 30 years she found a hankering to make art of her own—and specifically screen prints—was starting to compete for her time and attention, and she retired. A screen printing course followed, giving her the basic skills she needed to become a member at Highpoint. She has been happily making screen prints there since 2017. Cathy’s work is driven by a simple love of looking at things. She always has her camera at hand to record what captivates her, and those photos become the starting point for many of her prints. Whether the end result is representational or abstract, her art is always, at heart, a celebration of color, light, pattern and rhythm. View Cathy’s work here. Grace Sippy is a printmaker…
