Join us this fall for Documentary Nights: Film & Community Conversations, a documentary series featuring compelling real-world stories paired with discussions led by local community organizations. September – Recovery Month A New High (Wed. 9/9, 6pm) In downtown Seattle, a diverse group of people experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder embark on a transformative journey through an unconventional recovery program that uses mountain climbing to build resilience, community, and hope. Representatives from Recovery Beyond will lead post-film conversations. Walking on Ice (Wed. 9/23, 6pm) follows individuals in recovery as they prepare for a challenging wilderness expedition. October – Banned Books Week The Librarians (Wed. 10/7, 6pm) explores the rise of book challenges and the librarians working to protect intellectual freedom. King County Library System librarians will join us for a discussion on access, inclusion, and the freedom to read. All are welcome to attend these free screenings and stay for thoughtful community conversations. Refreshments provided by Friends of Renton Libraries.
