Documentary Days – “Primary”

As we approach what may be a transformative midterm election, the Indiana Theater presents “Primary,” a landmark documentary that follows the 1960 Wisconsin Democratic presidential primary, capturing the campaign rivalry between John F. Kennedy and Hubert H. Humphrey. Using an innovative cinéma vérité style, the film offered an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at modern political campaigning and helped redefine the documentary genre. More than six decades later, Primary remains a fascinating portrait of the campaign trail and the people who shape it. Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, independent, or simply interested in American history, this documentary offers a compelling look inside the realities of political campaigning. Theater doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the film begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission: $5.00 for students and members $7.00 for the general public
