Community Room. What better way to enjoy spooky season than with a panel of local horror experts discussing the genre’s history and their favorites? Moderated by The Little Theatre's Scott Pukos, and featuring Magnus Champlin, Candice Grimes, Lee Rodriguez, and Ben Scrivens. Full bios of panelists below: Rochester creative Magnus Champlin has made a career out of turning weird ideas into things people can see, touch, laugh at, and occasionally question their life choices over. From monsters and cryptids to dark humor and theatrical installations, Magnus has a deep appreciation for the strange side of creativity and unique films. He’s also one of the organizers of the Anomaly Film Festival, Rochester’s celebration of weird, unusual, and genre-bending cinema. His work and various projects lives somewhere between art, storytelling, spectacle, and the wonderfully weird. Candice Grimes is the Events Manager at The Little Theatre where she assists with the Spooky Season programming each October. She's also an independent artist and photographer—heavily influenced by horror and sci-fi films from her youth as well as all things occult and esoteric. Scott Pukos is the Director of Communications at The Little, and host of the theatre's Movies and a Microphone podcast. He's an award-winning former journalist, and currently lives with a gremlin (his cat, The Great Catsby). Lee Rodriguez is a painter and illustrator, inspired by the Baroque and Romantic era, impelled by the beautifully macabre, and the inner machinations of the human psyche. She’s currently a projectionist at The Little Theater, a collector of horror memorabilia, physical media, and a certified weird girl at heart. Ben Scrivens is a life long horror fan and the President/CEO of Rochester-based Fright-Rags, a company that specializes in horror apparel and collectibles.
