Diwali Celebration

Co-sponsored by the Manalapan Diversity Committee Join us for a vibrant Diwali Celebration at Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, as we celebrate the Festival of Lights through music, dance, and cultural performances. Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, bringing messages of hope, joy, devotion, and togetherness. The program will feature a wonderful variety of performances showcasing India’s rich artistic heritage, including classical music by Rucha Jambhekar Music School, solo singing, a soulful ghazal, and Hindustani classical vocals featuring Raaga Kafi. The celebration will also feature captivating Indian dance traditions, including Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, alongside lively Bollywood and festive Diwali group dances. Highlights include Paripaahi Shri Chamundeshwari, a classical composition honoring Goddess Chamundeshwari; Ek Sloki Ramayanam & Alarippu, a traditional Bharatanatyam presentation; and Shubh Din Ayo, celebrating Lord Rama’s homecoming through music and dance. In addition to the cultural performances, families can enjoy a henna station and an art and craft competition for young children, offering fun and creative ways to experience the festivities. Join us for a joyful afternoon celebrating Indian culture, tradition, and community. All are welcome!
