Disciples of the Dead is a New Jersey-based Grateful Dead tribute band featuring some of the area’s most accomplished and beloved players. With powerful lead vocals, rich harmonies, virtuosic guitar and keyboard improvisation, driving upright bass, and jazzy, cosmic percussion, the band captures the spirit, spontaneity, and exploratory energy of the Grateful Dead. The band is led by Michael Jaskewicz, one of New Jersey’s most revered Grateful Dead guitarists and vocalists, known for his work with Baked Alaska and Abandoned Outcasts. Joining him are Sheila Vee on rhythm guitar (Big Foot County, Magnolia Street String Band), Kevin Cooper on keys (Big Deep, Abandoned Outcasts), Lawrence Haber on bass (Lawrence Haber Collective), and Tim Larigan on drums (The Mighty Quinn). Together, Disciples of the Dead brings a dynamic, improvisational approach to the Grateful Dead catalog—creating a live experience that is both deeply rooted in the music and uniquely their own. The band is quickly becoming a favorite among New Jersey Deadheads.
