About this event

Bradley C. Walters Community Room (Basement level). Are you ready for winter? Come get disaster-ready at the library! Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) will be joining us for a Preparedness Planning Workshop designed to help you and your community become more resilient and ready for El Niño, wildfire, earthquakes and more. Learn why preparedness matters and the hazards where you are. We'll cover what to do before, during, and after events such as earthquakes, wildfires, and severe storms, as well as practical steps you can take to strengthen your personal and community resilience. Then, put your knowledge into action by beginning to fill out your own emergency plan using CORE’s Disaster Ready Guides. You'll identify evacuation routes, designate meeting locations, create communication plans with loved ones, and develop a personalized roadmap to keep yourself and those you care about safe and ready.
