Her culinary excellence has since earned Kamayan a spot in the Michelin Guide since 2023 and secured her recognition as a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist. Deeply committed to community service, Mia is a member of the World Central Kitchen Chef Corps and founded a non-profit dedicated to feeding underprivileged children and homebound seniors in Georgia. Furthermore, in collaboration with Global Growers and Growings!, she empowers impoverished immigrants by teaching them how to cultivate and market microgreens, seasonal greens, and wildflowers. Expanding her humanitarian efforts globally, Mia and her husband, Carlo, regularly organize vital medical missions to the Philippines.
