Founded by BODDO Studio × Tackussanu Senegal × Kardigan Home Diaspora in Design, a collaborative, multi-day celebration of African-inspired design, art and music. “For decades, High Point Market has brought the world to our city. We wanted to create an evening that also brings our city to the Market,” said Hanna Manes, co-executive director of Cohab Space. “This is a place for the makers, workers, designers, buyers and neighbors who shape High Point’s creative identity to come together and experience the talent that exists here year-round.” Diaspora in Design kicks off Wednesday (10/14) evening and continues Thursday through Saturday. with programming beginning at 4 p.m., including basket-weaving demonstrations, explorations of African textiles, artist conversations and panel discussions examining the influence of the African diaspora on contemporary design.
