To prepare us for Banned Book Week 2026 (Oct. 4-10), let's watch The Librarians, a fantastic documentary that just won an Emmy! The film discusses th sweeping censorship efforts to remove books from libraries in Texas, New Jersey, Florida, and other states that started with a Texas lawmaker's list of 850 titles -- mostly dealing with race, history, and LGBTQIA+ themes. The librarians faced harassment, firings, and criminal charges as they came together to become First Responders in the battle for democracy and First Amendment Rights.
