AI Art Workshop: Design a Place You Wish Existed

You’ll be guided by **Peter J. Koltai, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and a practicing artist**, who will share how an artist observes and interprets a place through light, color, material, nature, scale, and human presence. An **AI researcher** will introduce ways to work with generative AI more intentionally, helping you translate an idea into an image rather than simply prompting for something beautiful. **What to expect:** * Learn how an artist observes and interprets a place * Explore how to work with generative AI more intentionally * Imagine a place you personally wish existed * Create and iterate on your own AI-assisted work * Share your image and story with the group inside the gallery The goal isn’t to make the most beautiful image or write the perfect prompt. It’s to slow down, notice what matters to you, and use AI as a medium for imagination and self-expression. **Who is this for?** Artists, engineers, researchers, designers, photographers, writers, makers, and anyone curious about AI, creativity, and human experience. No art or technical AI background is required. **What to bring:** A phone is all you need. You’re welcome to bring a laptop or tablet if you prefer.
