Democrats' final messaging, tactics, promises.

It is getting a bit late to formulate message and strategy for an election six weeks away. But it is never too late to fine tune the message as it is and to debate the priorities of promises Dems are/should be making to voters in the final stretch run. Remember, few voters except already committed partisans focus on non-presidential elections prior to October. Even ones on which the fate of the republic and constitutional government depend. To be sure, Democratic voters' anger has been building steadily for two years, and lately much of it has been directed at their own leaders. That partly just reflects frustration over the leaders' powerlessness to stop a lawless Trump Administration (and a collaborating GOP and SCOTUS) from pursuing vast corruption, a continued assault on our democracy, and doing short- and long-term damage to our economy. It is like there are so many juicy possible messages they can't seem to pick one! Or don't want to? It sure seems it should not be so hard for Dem political leaders and candidates to walk and chew gun at the same time; i.e., to find a message that links the Administration's corruption, incompetence, deliberate dismantling of our democracy and the rule of law to real people's real-world concerns. We could discuss that debate: Kitchen table appeals versus stop the lawlessness/repair democracy appeals. Or we could focus on what Marjorie originally suggested as a topic, I think. The growing rift between more traditional Democratic centrists and the budding, mostly younger farther to the left wing of the Party. The size and influence within the Democratic Party of democratic socialists and actual socialists have been GREATLY exaggerated, IMO. The press obsesses over it, as does, naturally, the GOP's media organs. Yet, if the cautious, institutionalist approach to fighting Trump and MAGA keeps failing, the party may truly move more to the left, especially as generational change happens.
