In-Person Dances of Universal Peace

The Dances of Universal Peace are a form of circle dances utilizing movement and sacred phrases from many of the world’s spiritual traditions. This meetup is for anyone who likes to dance, sing, and learn about these traditions. Creating live music together, we circle to share, explore, uplift, and celebrate the essential unity of all people of all cultures. We seek to embody prayer through dance, walk, and sacred phrase. Explore dances that lead us to meditative consciousness and inner peace. All words and movements are taught by the leader. No experience or partner is required. Everyone is welcome. This in-person circle is offered within the tradition of the Dances of Universal Peace (DUP), a worldwide practice of sacred dance with nearly 60 years’ history. The Dances are stewarded by Sufi Ruhaniat International, which holds the container of the teachings, materials, and lineage of this work. This local gathering is being brought together by members of the Phoenix community to help make space for the Dances to be experienced in person. This event will be led by experienced dance leader, Shivadam. When: Saturday, June 13th, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 Where: Journey to Health and Wellness 10309 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85253 Suggested offering: $10 (In these difficult times, as always, no one is turned away for lack of funds. Offer whatever feels generous in your heart, according to your own circumstances). Please limit the wearing of fragrances to accommodate those with sensitivities. The space we are using requires that shoes be removed and left at the door. Don’t forget, if you’re sick, the best option is to stay home.
