Solo, he turns that setup into a genre-defying live show —jazz, prog, metal, lo-fi, and classic singer-songwriter tradition all folded into a sound that's part folk, part grunge, and entirely his own.Drawing on Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and Chris Whitley, and earning comparisons to contemporary artists like Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman, Tedesco writes with the eye of a narrator and plays like it might fall apart at any second — in the best way. A single guitar, a stack of pedals, and no safety net: one song sits in quiet, close-mic'd introspection, the next detonates into distorted, full-band-sized noise, and he's the only one onstage making it happen.
