Cyanotype Toning with Native Plants

In this hands-on workshop, you'll harness the power of the sun to make your own cyanotype print and alter the original color using homemade toners brewed from native medicinal plants. Led by photographer Sky Maggiore, we’ll learn about the history of alternative photography processes, the science of solar exposures, and get hands-on experience with the art of arranging, exposing, and toning botanical prints. We’ll provide all the necessary supplies, including plenty of foraged plant materials to choose from! You’re welcome to bring in plant materials to use as well! We’ll start in the auditorium and move to the sunshine of the lawn to expose our prints. Plan your sun protection accordingly! Check back for a rain date. Questions: Ask Terese: twinters@lplks.org. This workshop is supported by Outdoors Unscripted and the Showcasing Open Space Through Accessible Adventure grant. For more information, head to Outdoors Uns
