About this event

A heart too big for this world. A life that changes everyone. Join us at MCPL-Wausau as Ron Rindo, Wisconsin author and retired UW Oshkosh professor of literature and creative writing, discusses his acclaimed novel “Life, & Death, & Giants.” The story follows an 8-foot-tall teenage boy growing up in Lakota, Wisconsin, with his Amish grandparents. Threaded with the poems of Emily Dickinson, this novel weaves together an unforgettable story of faith, family, buried secrets, and everyday miracles. Life, & Death, & Giants earned a 2025 Goodreads Nomination for Readers’ Favorite Fiction and was named on the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association Bestsellers List. Ron will read from his book, discuss the inspiration behind his story, and answer audience questions. Copies of the book will also be available for purchase on site through Janke Book Store. This free Central Wisconsin Book Festival event is open to adults, with no registration. We’ll meet in the Community Room. Call 715-261-7230 for more information. The Central Wisconsin Book Festival is incredibly grateful for the generous support of foundations, organizations, businesses, and individuals throughout our community.
