CusCampbell

About this event

CusCampbell plays trombone the way most front men work a microphone: as an extension of the performance, not a side note. The Boston stop is a chance to see an artist whose live show has a reputation that precedes him, built on the kind of nonstop, crowd-in-the-room energy that turns a seated venue into something else entirely. His introduction to a national audience came alongside Snoop Dogg in Peace Out 2020 and a viral TikTok campaign with Jon Batiste. Both moments made sense for an artist whose sound sits at the intersection of R&B, 90s soul, and jazz-rooted musicianship. He plays all of it with the same conviction, and he plays it live in a way that tends to close the distance between stage and audience fast. City Winery Boston is an intimate live music venue built for exactly this kind of performer. The room rewards artists who bring genuine presence, and CusCampbell brings it in full. Expect original music, the classics that shaped his sound, and at least one moment where the show finds you rather than the other way around.
