About this event
CTL LIFT – Designing Your Course Presented by Stacey Cofield, PhD Description: Leading your first course can be overwhelming; designing your course can be downright terrifying! But it doesn’t have to be! This workshop will offer essential tools and strategies to design your first course from the ground up by focusing on: learner-centered design, alignment of outcomes, materials, activities, and assessments. You will leave with an outline of a course structure, a set of initial activities, and a deeper understanding of how to foster an engaging and equitable learning environment. Join the CTL LIFT series & Lean Into Future Teaching Lunch will be provided (if you are unable to attend at the last minute, please contact the CTL: uabctl@uab.edu) Please note: Offered in partnership with the UAB Graduate School, these workshops are designed exclusively for graduate teaching assistants, or graduate students and postdocs who anticipate a career in positions with teaching responsibilities. Participants who complete eight workshops in the program will receive a LIFT certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning to demonstrate their engagement with learning about good teaching practice.
